Frequently Asked Question

What is Feng Shui?

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese practice that, in its Classical Flying Stars form, analyzes how the hidden energies (qi) move through a space based on its orientation. Using a compass (Luo Pan) and the nine flying stars, this method considers both the static energies of a space and the shifting annual star energies to guide layout, color, materials, and placement of objects. The goal is to balance qi, enhance harmony and well-being, and support favorable timing for activities such as career, rest, and relationships.

Does Feng Shui really work?

Many people notice improvements in mood, focus, and overall harmony after making thoughtful changes to their space. At its core, Feng Shui is about creating an environment that supports how you want to feel and live day to day.

Before formally training in Classical, compass-based Feng Shui, I spent years in high-end interior design and naturally approached spaces in a way that felt balanced and intentional. When I eventually worked with a Feng Shui consultant—who later became my instructor—I found that much of my home was already aligned, with a few small adjustments that made a meaningful difference.

For me, Feng Shui is less about quick fixes and more about a way of living. Consistently, people who enter my home comment on how it feels—calm, grounded, and supportive—which is ultimately the goal of this work.

Some clients notice immediate shifts after decluttering or making simple adjustments to their space. Deeper changes—such as improved habits, clarity, or overall flow—tend to unfold over time. It’s a cumulative process.

An assessment can sometimes feel like you need to change everything at once, but that’s not the goal. This work is meant to support you in a practical, manageable way. We focus on the areas that feel the most challenging first—clearing clutter, applying remedies, and making intentional updates. From there, the shifts build naturally, and yes, you will begin to notice a difference.

Do I need to follow the Bagua map exactly?

No. The Bagua is a helpful framework, but it’s not applied in a rigid or one-size-fits-all way. I translate it into practical, tailored recommendations that work with your space and lifestyle.

Classical Flying Stars Feng Shui uses a precise, compass-based system and time-based star energies, focusing on how qi moves through a space and changing over time. Modern or contemporary Feng Shui tends to emphasize aesthetics, psychological comfort, and intuitive arrangement without relying on the precise compass directions or star calculations.

Will I notice the difference right away?
What is the difference between Classical Flying Stars Feng Shui and Modern Feng Shui?
Will I need to change everything in my home?

Not at all. This is not about starting over. Most homes already have a strong foundation—we refine, adjust, and enhance what’s there. Small, intentional changes can make a significant difference.

Do you tell me exactly what to do with my space?

I provide clear, thoughtful guidance and recommendations, but you always have choice in how things are implemented. The goal is to create a space that feels natural and supportive to you.

Do I need to rearrange all of my furniture?

Not necessarily. Sometimes small adjustments create the biggest shift. If larger changes are needed, I guide you through them in a way that feels manageable and aligned with your space.

Do you offer remote consultations?

Yes—most of my consultations are done remotely. I assess your space through photos, your address, compass reading and floor plans, then provide a clear, personalized plan you can implement at your own pace. In-person sessions are available upon request for an additional fee.

How much do consultations cost?

Pricing varies based on the scope of the project. To begin, you’ll fill out the assessment form. From there, I’ll review your space and provide a clear, customized estimate.

What does the process look like, and how long does it take?

You’ll start by completing the assessment form. Once you decide to move forward, we schedule an initial Zoom consultation to walk through your home together.

Following that, I prepare your personalized Feng Shui assessment. This is typically delivered within 2–3 weeks, depending on the scope and current scheduling.

We then meet for a follow-up call to review everything in detail, and a second follow-up is scheduled approximately 9 weeks later to support implementation and refinement.
